goat looking humans, rafting and BABY!

Hey everyone!!

Thanks to everyone who responded to the last post :) I like to know people are reading and Im not just writing for my own vanity and just to hear myself talk! ha! Aaaanyway.. we just got back from a great weekend in Michigan. It had been a few months since Id been there and Josh hadnt been back since he moved, so we spent three days up there just seeing his family and friends! It was awesome. We took Piper (say whaaaat?!) and she was actually not that bad!! Huge Thank you to Kathy for letting Piper stay the night and not being too mad when she dug a few holes around a tree :) eeek. Overall she did pretty well.. and we were so lucky she could stay there and we could toodle around and go visit friends and family and whatnot.. Phew! AND I got some cuuuute maternity clothes thanks to his sister.. God BLESS you alli. I was getting tired of wearing my one pair of pants that fit.

So we spent all day sunday on a river in some big rafts. It rained for a little bit and was a little chilly, but it really was a good time. And we also went to the Marne fair. Which, for my Indiana friends, its kind of like going to the Peru fair, only it also had some animal farm thing :) haha.. Its umm... small... but it was still good because my fat butt hadnt had an elephant ear in a couple years and I like to think my baby was rubbing its belly and saying "thanks mom!" It was pretty yum. But yeah, the animals= sick nasty. See the picture of that goat thing at the top? Looks like an alien/human/goat. SICK.

So thats whats up with us! Now next weekend we get to spend it with my fam in ktown for my mama's birthday and get some good home cookin' on the grill... so excited for that :) And then I move the weekend after that to a new place FINALLY.. So we can start painting and getting baby stuff in the baby room :) How fun!

This week marks week 17. Un. be.lievable. For the past five days or so Ive felt the baby move at least twice every single day. Its wild... it feels like popcorn in there sometimes... haha. She/He is about 5 inches now. And now I will paste in some info/pictures from babycenter.com so you can see whats REALLY going on. I tend to ramble.

(This is a 3D picture of a baby in the womb at 17 weeks...according to google images)

Your baby during week 17 is now very mobile, gleefully moving his joints here, there and everywhere and will continue to do so as you continue your pregnancy week by week. The cartilage making up the skeleton in your baby's body is starting to transform into bone. At pregnancy 17 weeks time your baby should be hearing things. Your baby will start putting on some layers of fat in the weeks to come, though at this point in time your baby is made up of primarily water.

Cutie patootie isnt it? :)

super fun!

Hello Blog reader people!!

How are you? Good? Great. So are we! (ps feel free to comment so I know who's reading, and tell me what YOU were up to this weekend!) :) Josh and I had a fun weekend! Sunday we went and tried out a Catholic Mass at a church semi-down town. It was GORGEOUS.. absolutely huge inside and beautiful... kind of bad lighting, meaning, there wasnt much lighting at all.. but pretty beautiful regardless... Then we went and got some sandwhiches on the circle downtown and sat on the monument steps and took pictures... we did the whole asian-tourist thing and took pictures of each other and made passerbys take our picture too... haha... youd think we were from another state for sure... but its something neither one of us had done before and I had a dress on for once, so I thought..well what the heck...

Josh started his new job at the brew ha-ha last week and today was his first day of non-training.. so he was pretty happy to get back to serving and make some money while we continue to dream up ways to make money on Ebay and whatnot... I think with his work ethic and my ability to swoon people, we could be billionaires someday :) haha. Anyway, Im really grateful and happy to have him here and we are having a blast...

Im doing pretty much the same stuff Ive been doing... Only now Im being taught how to cook a lot more than I used to...and how to keep the carpets clean :) haha.. Work is going okay...still hoping that someday I can do something more meaningful than try to convince people to publish their crap... but very blessed to have a job with insurance right now, so I should stop complaining...

Piper is... being Piper.... only better by like a hundred. Josh has that dumb dog so trained its sick. She still looks at me and flips me off in her mind, I think... but at least she is listening to SOME one.. there is hope for her yet.

Soooo we are now in week 16 of the pregnancy... thats 4 months.. holy smokes... cant even believe it... i feel like i say that every post, so i promise next time i wont.. but WOW. we had our last doc. appt last friday and the heartbeat was 154 and everything was swell. The next appointment is August 7th where we COULD find out the sex of the baby.. *ahem*... but we arent :) so the cool thing is though that we will get to see some REALLY great ultrasound pictures and even ones in 3D..which will totally freak me out but will be cool to have... So, heres whats up with baby.. (thanks to babycenter.com for the info--otherwise by the looks of me id think the baby was the size of a house right now)

Get ready for a growth spurt. In the next few weeks, your baby will double his weight and add inches to his length. Right now, he's about the size of an avocado: 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. His legs are much more developed, his head is more erect than it has been, and his eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. His ears are close to their final position, too. The patterning of his scalp has begun, though his locks aren't recognizable yet. He's even started growing toenails. And there's a lot happening inside as well. For example, his heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as your baby continues to develop.

Oh and for my girlfriends reading this, it was great to see you guys:)

Hooray for week 14!!

How your baby's growing:This week's big developments: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck his thumb! Thanks to brain impulses, his facial muscles are getting a workout as his tiny features form one expression after another. His kidneys are producing urine, which he releases into the amniotic fluid around him — a process he'll keep up until birth. He can grasp, too, and if you're having an ultrasound now, you may even catch him sucking his thumb.

We finally hit the second trimester! Should be the safetey zone... which feels really good. Our 15 wk appointment is next friday, which means Im 14 weeks and 2 days today! Time is flyyyying. Its so crazy. Ive developed a teeny baby bump... which to me feels enormous but...you'll see...its not. hehe :)

Its pretty crazy how fast time is going... Ill be moving into a new apartment at the end of the month that has two bedrooms so I can start tucking away all this baby stuff Ive already received from people. My entire closet here at this apartment is already packed FULL of stuff! Its awesome! Now I just need some baby dressers to put it all in and we'll be good to go!

Ive still not had any bad symptoms... a few crazy dreams here and there, restless leg syndrome (thanks Dad), and a weird craving for Italian dressing... but thats about it!

In other news, Josh is all moved to Indy and it has been SO much fun! We went to an Indians game the other night, and heres a pic of that... Some very nice stranger took that for us! haha.

Thats all for now. One more time, week 15 appointment is next friday at 8:15 (why did I do that?) so I'll let you know how that goes!!
Peace and love.
